Show Details Shared Note: - His family moved to Madison, WI, in 1911. He attended the University inthe late 1920's studying engineering. After interrupting his engineeringstudies to work in Canada as a surveyor, Mr. Steuber returned to Madisonand resumed his school work, this time as an English major, grsaduatingin 1930. He then began working full-time as a draftsman and surveyorfor Dane County. He joined the Highway Safety Promotion Department in1937 and began producing brochures, pamphlets, and films on highwaysafety. He returned to an engineering role in the Wisconsin Division ofHighways in 1939 and was promoted to Chief of Public Information in1954 and to Assistant Highway Engineer in 1958. He retired in 1969 asthe second ranking person in the Division of Highways.

He was an author and film maker, in addition to his other activities. Hewrote three books ‎("Us, Incorporated", "The Landlooker" and "__". Amonghis films credits is the award-winning "Bill's Bike", a silent color film hemade in 1939 for the Wisconsin Department of Transportation topromote bicycle safety.
