Show Details Shared Note: - After the Norman conquest of England in 1066 he was treated by theNormans as a fellow countryman, which is quite remarkable, and in the"Doomsday Book" (1086) it is recorded that he was left in possession ofhis father's estates after the Conquest.

He was a Castellan at Windsor and Warden of the forest of Berks. Headded to his already vast fortune by marrying Gladys, daughter ofRhiwallon ap Cynfyn, Prince of North Wales.
