Wife and Mother called home
Mrs. August J. Hopf Passed Away at Her Home on Tuesday

The death messenger entered the home of August J. Hopf, 5 mile south-eastof Independence, in Liberty Township. Tuesday afternoon at 4:45 o'clockand called to that other home Mrs. hopf, the wife and mother, aged 53years. Mrs. Hopf had been ill for about a week, her death being toinflammatory rheumatism. The funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock.burial will be in wilson cemetary. Rev. H. Foote, of Hazleton, willofficiate.

Mrs. Hopf was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Amiel Nibeck and was born inMiddlefield township November 30, 1869. all of her life was spent inBuchanan county except three years in Minnesota and two years in WestUnion, she and her husband having lived in those places. She was united nmarriage with August J. Hopf September 4, 1890. To this union threechildren were born-Mrs. Nellie May snyder, Albert W. and Clarence LeRoyall of Liberty township. Besides the husband and three children Mrs. Hopfleaves to mourn her death two grandchildren, three brothers and twosisters being Charles and John Nibeck, of Liberty township, Fred ofColorado, Mrs. Etta Hocken and Mrs. Mary Hocken, both of Winthrop. Alsoher Stepmother, Mrs. Ida Nibeck of Winthrop.

Mrs. Hopf was a faithful member of the Congregational church atGatesville. She was a good, home loving wife and mother, devoted to herfamily, and a woman whose many good qualities won her many friends, towhom the news of her death comes as a personal sorrow. To the bereavedhusband, children and other relatives a genuine sympathy is extended.

A message was received yesterday from the brother, Fred Nibeck, ofcolorado, that he would arrive this afternoon to attend the funeral.Others who will be present are Mr. and Mrs. Albert Hopf, Mr. and Mrs.George Brause, Mrs. Martha A. Grimes, all of West Union and Mrs. AgnesMeister, of Spirit Lake.
